Six months in partnership with Crowdcube

Crowd10 began with a challenge to boost the profile of new investment opportunities in the South West of the UK, which is home to a wealth of innovation, including Crowdcube HQ in Exeter. Between June and August 2016, we worked with multiple South West companies with an aim to support many of them onto Crowdcube later that year. The result of this support was the successful funding of Local Vets, This Mum Runs, Coherent, The Chocolate Bear Kitchen and LUX rewards.

Off the back of this success, we worked with Crowdcube to make Crowd10 a rolling programme with a monthly intake. We also wanted to open it up nationally from our home in Bristol. The roll out saw the launch and successful funding, later in 2016 of Zucla (London), Influencer (London), Meetzoo (Bristol) and My Friends Room (London). Since then, we’ve reached lots of corners of the UK with our current live clients including Temple Cycles (Bristol), Armour Agent (Scotland), Electronic Sound (Norwich) and Desi High Street (Leeds). We’ve also kept our South West presence strong working with Rivalled (Bath) and Forth (Bristol).

We have a number of companies currently preparing for launch. Cyclists and Smart TV enthusiasts; heads up! Since we’re lucky enough to posting to you here on Crowdcube’s blog, I thought I’d use this opportunity to profile our latest company to launch.

Human Kind Ventures, trading as Forth is a SETsquared member here in Bristol. SETsquared is leading Business Accelerator for High Tech, High Growth Companies. Being ex SETsquared members ourselves, it was a privilege to support one of their members onto Crowdcube. Sarah Bolt, Forth’s founder has fierce determination to make Forth a success. Once Sarah decided that crowdfunding was the way forward for Forth, she was equally determined to give her Crowdcube campaign the best chance of success by taking the time to build a strong communications strategy with us and to on board her own network to the opportunity. This determination sees her go live with a healthy amount of funding already pledged.

We hope the campaign will help us scale our business so more people can benefit from tracking their health on the inside.View Forth’s pitch page here.

Crowdfunding can be a daunting experience for any brand, so the Crowd10 programme is designed to add an additional layer of support and provide companies with access to other people who are currently going through the process. Crowd10 has worked closely with Crowdcube to understand their processes from start to finish and is designed to support clients through those processes and onto the platform as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Along the way, we support companies with refining their financial promotion, preparing quality accompanying documents and a solid plan of action and communications strategy to increase their chance of succeeding.
